When the first round of the postseason playoffs was complete last week, two teams still stood tall and advanced.
The district champion DeKalb Lady Bears won their first-round matchup with the Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill Lady Red Devils in three sets and moved on to face Edgewood in the Area round Tuesday night at White Oak.
The Hooks Lady Hornets also earned a Bi-District championship with a hardfought win over the Hughes Springs Lady Mustangs. Their contest went back and forth over five sets with the ladies from Hornets coming out on top by a score of 25-15, 22-25, 22-25, 25-23, 15-7.
