DeKalb’s noted educator James L. Germany recently had the privilege to attend the annual conference of the National Legal Aid and Defender Association in Washington D.C.
People from all over the country attended the annual conference and heard keynote presentations on subjects such as the Criminalization of Homelessness and Poverty: Local, State and National Resistance and How Defending Democracy is Integral to the Fight for Access to Equal Justice.
Mr. Germany has been working with and been a part of the NLADA’s mission and goals for close to 45 years. He says that he was blessed with the opportunity to attend the annual conference and bring the information that he gleaned there back to the people of DeKalb and Bowie County.
