Football season around our coverage area came to a close last Friday night with losses to our two local teams that were still in the postseason playoffs and the loss to the district champion.
The DeKalb Bears ran into a brick wall in Tatum against the state ranked Newton Eagles.
The 68-0 win was the 11th straight for the Eagles who saw RB Kendray Porter rush for 219 yards and a pair of scores on just seven carries.
