What an amazing year our volunteers and community- oriented organizations have provided for the quality of life in the Lion City!
With Thanksgiving just ending, and Christmas rapidly approaching, how fortunate are we in New Boston to have such a great volunteer base?
Whether it be the Vietnam Memorial Wall, fireworks for the 4th of July, Pioneer Days, free movies for Halloween/ Christmas, Coffee- Commerce-Chat with the Chamber of Commerce , MLK Day celebrations, Shop New Boston 1st, Yard of the Month, the Bowie County Citizens Tribune keeping us informed of what is happening in our community, SIDC/City of New Boston opening the splash pad, Christmas Parade, Sip & Shop, Farmers Market Downtown, food being provided for anyone that needs it many times, hams donated for Christmas, Jackets/ blankets/fans provided by non-profits, school events, churches hosting Christmas events, fire department with breakfast, police with Shop With a Cop, the CDC creating a committee to take our downtown to a higher level and the Lions Club placing flags throughout our community (this is not an exhaustive list-just a few events to share our great quality of life!).
