Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” (NKJV)

Jeremiah 1:5 tells us that before a person is even born, God Almighty puts a mighty calling and a powerful destiny upon their life. The sad thing is so many people feel unworthy of the calling that God has on their life. Jeremiah replied in verse six, “Lord I cannot speak, for I am just a youth.” It’s sad but he was telling the Lord, “You’ve got the wrong person. You’re calling the wrong person to speak on Your behalf, God.” This is the exact same thing that Moses said. But God will call the most unlikely people to be His mouthpiece.

When the prophet Samuel went to Jesse’s house to anoint the next king of Israel, Jesse did not pick one of the good looking, strong sons of Jesse who were living in the house. Instead God picked David, the forgotten son who was out tending to the sheep. Sometimes in life, the place that you are currently at may not look like God could ever have a promotion planned for you. But my friends, when you stay faithful, your promotion is right around the corner. You might feel unworthy, but you’re called by God to fulfill the destiny God has placed on your life.
