LONNY RAY FAIN

Lonny Ray Fain of Avery, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025, in Texarkana, Texas. He was born on August 4, 1948, in Dallas, Texas, to Lida Luther Fain and Judy Marjorie Swain Fain.

On June 7, 1986, in Avery, Texas, Lonny married the love of his life, Janet Woods, and together they shared many wonderful years filled with laughter, faith, and family.

Lonny dedicated 41 years of hard work and loyalty to Ash Grove Cement Company before retiring. A man of quiet strength and integrity, he was deeply respected by all who worked beside him. Lonny was a faithful member of Avery Missionary Baptist Church, where he found great joy in fellowship and worship.

In his free time, Lonny enjoyed playing golf with his nephews, a pastime that brought him both friendly competition and cherished memories. Above all, he loved spending time with his family—those moments were the heartbeat of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jerry Smith and Wayne Fain; and one sister, Elaine Kelsoe.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Janet Fain of Avery, Texas; his father-in-law, Kenneth Woods; two brothers-in-law, Glenn Woods and his wife, Cindy, of Avery, Texas, and Joe Woods of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; three nephews, Kenny Woods and his wife, Jodie, Justin Woods and his wife, Karissa, and Dustin Woods and his wife, Thelma; three special great-nieces, Cora, Zoey, and Blakely; one special great-nephew, Rylan. He will be deeply missed by his family, church, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Avery Missionary Baptist Church Youth Group.

Lonnie will be remembered for his steady kindness, gentle humor, and steadfast love for those he held dear—a life well-lived and a heart well-loved.
