2025 was a very solid base setting year for economic development in New Boston and our surrounding area. The following is a summary of what both the New Boston Special Industrial Development Corporations (SIDC) and Community Development Corporation (CDC) achieved in establishing a foundation to improve our local economy and quality of life:
•The SIDC, CDC and City Council approved our first ever economic development plan, Forward New Boston! The plan provides a lot of pragmatic ways to improve our community.
•To implement the plan, our SIDC and CDC budgets were linked to our plan. This is what is termed a performance- based budget. By linking our priorities/plan to our budget, we can be transparent and show the public what we have achieved to improve our community.
