As construction on the Interstate 30 (I-30) widening project continues, the Texas Department of Transportation (Tx-DOT) is alerting travelers to a ramp closure along the westbound corridor, where work is currently taking place. Westbound Exit 220B/Richmond Road is scheduled to be closed starting Monday, January 5, 2026, around 9 a.m.
The exit will remain closed until work to build the new pavement structure to tie this ramp to the widened main lanes is completed. Work is expected to take several months and is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Travelers should use Exit 222/Summerhill Road and travel along the continuous frontage road lanes to reach common destinations such as the hospital, Richmond Road and many businesses between Summerhill Road and University Avenue. Message boards are currently in place to alert travelers to the upcoming change.
