“Here at Bowie-Cass Electric Cooperative, our dispatch and operations departments are closely monitoring the forecast and taking extra steps to ensure that we are prepared for any winter precipitation this weekend.
Throughout the week, crews will perform additional maintenance checks on all equipment, top off fuel and fluids, and make sure that all block heaters are plugged in to ensure that equipment is winterized and ready if needed. Our warehouse supplier has also assured us that we are well stocked with all necessary materials for any repair work.
The severity of this winter storm is still uncertain at this point, but it is important to note that if conditions are severe, power disruptions and outages are likely and could last for several hours, if not longer.
