The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is pleased to announce that Steve Pier has been appointed as the agency’s new executive director, effective February 2.
Pier brings nearly three decades of policy and government experience to the role, most recently as the Deputy Executive Director of the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) and the Deputy Chief Information Officer for the State of Texas.
“I deeply appreciate Governor Greg Abbott and the TWC commissioners giving me the opportunity to lead an agency that is vital to our state’s economy and Texans’ livelihoods,” said newly appointed Executive Director Steve Pier. “I look forward to building on TWC’s strong foundation of serving Texas’ employers and job seekers.”
