Bowie County celebrates poll workers helping Americans vote

Last week, the Bowie County Election Office joined a national effort to recognize and recruit election officials across the nation for their critical role in helping Americans vote. Ahead of the 2026 midterms, the EAC is hosting Help America Vote Day on January 27, 2026.

The “Poll Workers Helping Americans Vote” initiative was launched by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) several years ago. The initiative aims to raise awareness about the role election workers play in our communities, our nation, and our democracy.

“Poll workers are a critical part of our election process and being a poll worker is one of the most meaningful and rewarding ways to help Americans vote.” said Pat McCoy, Bowie County Elections Administrator. “We are so lucky to have this great group of dedicated local individuals working in our community to help their friends and neighbors through the voting process.”
