Psalms 37:4-5, “Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.” (NKJV)
I’m so thankful that our heavenly Father is so relational. Psalm 37:4-5 fills me with peace and thankfulness. It seems as if the writer is speaking with great excitement and joy through personal experience of the Lord’s faithfulness. If we fully give ourselves to the Lord and delight ourselves in Him, then He will give us the desires of our heart.
I love that when we fully and freely commit our hearts to God, then we take on His likeness. Our hearts are filled with all of the things in the heart of God when we trust and delight in Him. Therefore when we do something out of our heart it is really from the heart of Father God. This is when we begin doing the Father’s business. When our consecration to the Lord is strong and our relationship with Him is powerful, it’s like two people dancing together perfectly. There are two but in reality they are one. I pray this daily, “Lord, I want Your desires to be in my heart so I carry out Your plans.”
