The City of Avery, Texas, faces additional investigative probing after a former city employee said they refused to pay him backpay.
Kris Posey, former public works director, filed a complaint with the U.S. Department of Labor for failure to pay a total of 240 hours of compensation pay, Posey told the Tribune.
He resigned from his position with the city on January 13 but remained on as a contractor for an additional week to assist with the city’s water treatment facility. Posey began working for New Boston’s public works department at the water treatment plant on January 14.
