The New Boston SIDV/CDC received notice this morning that they had been awarded the Texas Economic Development Council's 2025 Economic Excellence Award.
This prestigious award is presented annually by the TEDC as part of their efforts to continue strengthening the knowledge and skills of economic development professionals and volunteers throughout the state.
Organizations are eligible to apply for the Economic Excellence Recognition each year. Past recipients are encouraged to apply each year in order to keep their recognition current.
New Boston SIDC/CDC Executive Director Lee Elliott stated, "This is recognition for all of the hard work both organizations performed in 2025. To put it in perspective, for 2024, we would not be eligible to apply for this designation. Through all of our ground work and best practice actions in 2025, we have established a solid base and have received recognition. Texas has over 700 EDC's, and most cycles for this recognition, less than 100 receive it. We should be very proud of what we did in 2025-thanks to everyone, we are moving in a good direction."
