The weather outside was dreary but the atmosphere inside was anything but as educators and staff from area high schools gathered to honor their own at the seventh annual Teachers Support Teachers (TST) fundraising gala at the Texarkana Arkansas Convention Center Saturday night.
Six teachers were awarded 2026 Amie Gardner Educator Excellence awards for their commitment to education. Among them were two elementary teachers from the New Boston Independent School District.
Diana Buchanan received the 2026 Herise Williams Reading Excellence Award. Becki Carpenter was honored with the 2026 Susan Hartman Early Childwood Excellence Award.
