This year’s winner of the Doyle Corley Humanitarian Award said prayer and the community’s support which got him through his own cancer diagnosis led him to help those suffering their own battles locally.
In late 2023, Charlie Clark received life-changing news when he was diagnosed with stage 3 renal cell carcinoma just two days after beginning a new job and less than a year after losing his home to a tornado.
The cancer, which affects the kidneys, required the immediate removal of the organ.
