Matthew 5:6, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” (NKJV)
Blessed & Filled! These are two things that I definitely want in my life. I want to be blessed by God and filled with everything that He has for me. If I hunger and thirst for the things of God and His righteousness, then to be blessed and filled is my promise and my portion. Have you ever noticed the people that have the favor and blessings of God all over them? These are the people that have a heart for the things of God. The people that when they pray, they say, “God, I just want more of You. I want Your characteristics. Help me with my integrity and character.” These are the people that want to be righteous and blameless before God. Their heart is focused on the things of Heaven and their mind is filled with the purposes of God.
The Lord spoke to me once about the people I was supposed to run with in life. When the Lord showed me Matthew 5:6, it was as plain as day. I was going to run with people who were hungry and thirsty for the things of God. The Bible clearly says that you will be blessed and filled if you seek Him and remain hungry and thirsty for Him. When you run with people who are hungry and thirsty for God and the things of God, they will add life and value to you. Why run with people who aren’t blessed and who are filled with all that God has for them? If there are people that are trying to attach themselves to you who are not hungry and thirsty for God, they will never be filled with all God has for them. Part of their life will be empty and they will always try to find something to fill that empty void. Why live your life with people who will always have worldly things going on in their life?
