The biggest game around last week was the district showdown between the Hooks lady Hornets and the DeKalb Lady Bears, and it was the ladies from Hooks that went home with the big win.
A dominant pitching performance from ace hurler Peyton Morgan shut down the DeKalb lineup leading to the 7-0 victory for Hooks. Morgan tossed a complete game shutout allowing just three hits and striking out 13 to lead her squad to the top spot in the district standings as teams venture into the second half of the district season.
The Lady Hornets topped that win with a 19-0 shutout of the Queen City Lady Bulldogs on Friday as Mollie Grant stepped onto the bump and scattered three hits over four innings to earn the win.
