WM Neighborhood Committee Awards Local Non-Profits Grants for their Community Efforts

WM Neighborhood Committee Awards Local Non-Profits Grants for their Community Efforts

The WM New Boston Landfill Neighborhood Recommendation Committee recently awarded $10,000 to nine local organizations through the 2025 Neighborhood Recognition Grant program, supporting projects that make a positive difference in the community. These grants reflect WM’s commitment to sustainability, community well‑being, and environmental stewardship, while investing in the people and places that make the New Boston area strong.

The grants help fund everyday efforts that feed families, educate students, care for shared spaces, and improve quality of life, while encouraging community pride and responsible care for local resources.

This year’s recipients include Community Kitchen, Nick’s Mission Backpack Program, Rock Solid Resource Center, Bowie County Soil & Water Conservation District, Magnolia Cemetery Association, New Boston Education Foundation, Redwater Intermediate School, Runnin’ WJ Ranch, and West Bowie County Rotary Club. Each organization relies on local volunteers and neighbors working together to meet real needs and support a healthier, more connected community.

Through the Neighborhood Recognition Grant program, WM partners with local leaders and nonprofits to promote projects that strengthen communities, support education, improve the environment, and encourage long‑term sustainability.

The committee is seeking additional community members who are interested in getting involved and helping recognize future projects that improve the area. In addition, the 2026 Recognition Grant application is now available for nonprofit organizations planning community improvement, cleanup, educational, or service projects. Anyone interested in applying for a grant or serving on the committee may contact Misty Adams at [email protected] or 469‑719‑4677 for more information.

You may email your completed application to Misty Adams at madams6@ wm.com, or drop off your application at the landfill gatehouse at 1030 Highway 82 West.
