It’s a Wrap: Toyota ShareLunker collection season ends with 18 entries and tall tales of bass with weight problems
Dale Washington’s 13.38 pounder is the first Legacy Lunker reported from Lake Fork since Tanner Spurgin’s 15.27 pounder in March 2021. Washington, who also turned in a Legacy Lunker in 2007, caught his fish blind casting with a Chatterbait and was one of the few anglers who was not actively using forward facing sonar. (TPWD Photo)*

The Toyota ShareLunker program wound up its 2026 collection season on March 31. In total, Texas Parks and Wildlife’s popular spawning and restocking program received 18 Legacy Lunker entries from 10 different lakes this year.

The 18 lucky anglers will be included in two drawings for $5,000 shopping sprees to Bass Pro Shops at the end of the year. Plus, they will receive free fiberglass replicas of their fish, fishing tackle and other gear.

Legacy Lunkers are largemouth bass weighing upwards of 13 pounds that are caught from Texas lakes between Jan. 1 - March 31 and loaned to the department for spawning at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens.
