
Wanda Marie Green Grable, age 79, of Redwater, Texas, passed away on March 29, 2026, at her home in Redwater, Texas.
Wanda was born on September 13, 1946, in Hannibal, Missouri, to William David Mack and Vera Wanda Porter Green.
She graduated from Pittsfield High School in Pittsfield, Illinois, in 1964.
Wanda dedicated many years to her career in retail, working for Montgomery Ward in Jacksonville, Illinois, and Texarkana, Texas. She later worked for Lowe’s in Florida and Texarkana, where she retired in 2020.
A resident of Redwater, Texas since 1979, Wanda was an active member of her community. She volunteered with the Redwater City Council and First Baptist Church of Redwater and played a supportive role for the Redwater Fire Department.
Wanda found great joy in spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed playing card games such as Bridge and Hand and Foot. She hosted a quilting group in her home for many years, teaching others the craft and creating numerous quilts for loved ones. Wanda also lovingly made needlepoint Christmas stockings for all of her children and grandchildren, leaving a treasured legacy of handmade gifts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of nearly 49 years, Paul Gene Grable; and her brotherin-law, Louis (Butch) Koncor. She is survived by her son, David Lee Grable and wife, Merida Mae Burnett Grable; her daughter, Paula Kay Grable Hackney and husband, Darion Dewayne Hackney; grandchildren Jessica Burrow Russell, Nicole Grable Hall, Brandi White-Williams, Joshua Grable, Alora Duncan, Seth Duncan, Stephanie Hackney Gauldin, and Derek Hackney; thirteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Green Koncor of Pittsfield, Illinois; one brother, Gerald Green and wife, Judy Quincy Green of Pleasant Hill, Illinois; nephew Louis William Koncor; nieces Sally Green, Mary Green Snyder, Tina Green Rennecker, Karen Koncor Mocek.
Memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 3:00 P.M. at Bates-Rolf Funeral Home – New Boston, Texas with Pastor Corey Calicott officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M prior to the service. Wanda will be laid to rest at Redwater Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Redwater Building Fund or to the Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Foundation.
