The Texas Well Owner Network, TWON, is hosting a water well screening event in Bowie County on May 6-7 to allow residents to have their well water screened.
The TWON program was established to help well owners become familiar with Texas groundwater resources, septic system maintenance, well maintenance and construction, and water quality and treatment. Water samples will be screened for contaminants, including total coliform bacteria, E. coli, nitrate-nitrogen and salinity.
Bowie County residents will drop off water samples on May 6 between 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM at the Bowie County Extension office in the courthouse in New Boston (710 James Bowie Drive).
