Region 8 ESC Recognizes National Boar Certified Teachers Across Northeast Texas

Region 8 Education Service Center proudly recognizes a group of outstanding educators who have achieved one of the highest distinctions in the teaching profession, National Board Certification. This accomplishment reflects their deep commitment to teaching and dedication to improving student learning.

National Board Certification, awarded by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, is a voluntary, advanced credential that goes beyond state licensure. Educators who pursue this certification demonstrate advanced knowledge and refined teaching practices.

ESC8 is proud to recognize the following educators for earning National Board Certification: Mary Harris, New Boston Independent School District - Literacy: Reading- Language Arts / Early and Middle Childhood April Martin, Avery Independent School District - English Language Arts / Adolescence and Young Adulthood Sara Paul, Liberty-Eylau Independent School District - English Language Arts / Early Adolescence Melody Wright, Pittsburg Independent School District - Social Studies- History / Early Adolescence Achieving National Board Certification is a rigorous and demanding process that typically takes one to three years to complete. Candidates must submit a comprehensive portfolio that includes detailed lesson plans, student work samples, and reflective analyses of their teaching practices. In addition, teachers complete a series of assessments that measure content knowledge and their ability to apply instructional strategies effectively.
