A highly contested race in DeKalb ended Saturday with the incumbents staying in office.
Lowell Walker, Brenda Smith and Tom Ward hold their seats following Saturday’s election. Walker won the mayoral race by 53%, receiving 115 citywide votes. David Schwinn brought in 81 votes while Patrick Tiner received 19 votes.
In the Place 1 race, Smith beat out opponent Deborah Allen 137 to 76. And in Place 2, Ward edged out Marjorie Roberts 119 to 92.
