Longtime educator and local community leader James L. Germany served as the keynote speaker for the DeKalb Independent School District’s first day back in session for the 2022-2023 school year on Monday morning.
Germany, fondly known around DeKalb and all of west Bowie County as “Mr. G” gave an inspirational speech that provided encouragement for teachers and staff starting back to school.
