A new superintendent will be at the helm at Hubbard ISD for the 2022-23 school year. Following the resignation of Traci Drake, the district announced the selection of Johnny Pate as their new superintendent.
Pate has been in education for the past eighteen years. He has taught grades 3 through 12, primarily in the subjects of math and science. “I started out in a small charter school called Faith Family Academy, where I helped them to put together a Scope and Sequence and build unit assessments for their math program,” Pate told the Tribune. “From there I moved over to Everman ISD, a district in a southern suburb of Fort Worth. Then I worked at multiple campuses in Red Oak ISD, including helping them to launch a virtual campus called iScholars Magnet Academy. I moved over to Waxahachie Life School and helped them to increase their scores in Algebra
1 to a 95% pass rating. Next I moved to northeast Texas where I have taught at Avery ISD, Liberty Eylau ISD, and Hubbard ISD.” Pate holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Sciences in Nuclear Engineering Technologies from Thomas Edison State University and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin University.
