There is a contemporary Christian music song from back in the 90’s that starts off with the line that the single greatest cause of atheism in the world is Christians who profess Jesus with their lips but deny Him by their lifestyle and that is what an unbelieving world simply finds, unbelievable.
From the very first time I heard that song by DC Talk the words have stuck in my head. It sounds simple, but if we who are Christians don’t act like Christ, how do we expect those who are watching us to want any part of Him?
Too many of we who call ourselves Christians have become lazy and lackluster with our walks. We have let the world seep into the crevices and slowly impact how we live our daily lives. And let’s not try to fool ourselves. There are people in our lives that do watch us. They watch us looking for something different. They watch us looking for an example, or a role model, and what they see in us is too often not what they need to be seeing.
