Sartin resigns from Maud School Board

After making  insensitive remarks on social media recently, Maud ISD School Board member Boyd Sartin tendered his resignation from the governing body last night, in a special called meeting.

A statement from Maud ISD Superintendent Chris Bradshaw reads, "Boyd Sartin submitted his resignation as a member of the Board of Trustees of Maud Independent School District at a special meeting of the Board on June 4, 2020. The resignation shall be accepted at the next board of trustee meeting. We are grateful for the years of dedicated service that Mr. Sartin provided to the Maud I.S.D. students and community. Mr. Sartin’s remarks, however, do not reflect the civic responsibility that we teach our students every day on our school campuses. Mr. Sartin is apologetic for the damage his comments have caused our district and community."
