Wilma Rose was born and raised in New Boston, Texas. She made a 43 year-long career with the USDA, retiring as a County Executive Director.
She raised three children here – Frances, Nete, and Debra – and says there is no place she would rather live. “I have spent my life in New Boston because I love it,” she said. “New Boston is a wonderful place to live and was a wonderful place to raise my children.”
Almost twenty-five years ago, Wilma Rose saw a need in the community. However, she did something that fewer and fewer of us do these days in similar situations – she acted on it.
