Governor signs into law measure calling for feasibilty study of proposed reservoir

The fight continues to stop the construction of a massive reservoir in the Sulphur River Basin, as the Governor of Texas, and Texas lawmakers , now call for alternative options to what many in Northeast Texas see as merely a land grab of epic proportions.

The reservoir currently sits as part of the state’s water plan, but recent statements by lawmakers and local water authorities call into question the need for the reservoir and changes to the original planning numbers that make the proposed lake an even bigger threat to the way of life of many here in our region.

At a recent Republican party meeting in Lamar County, Chris Spencer made statements that both raised concerns and gave some hope to those opposed to the reservoir’s construction.
