The final vote totals came in very late Tuesday night with widespread problems with getting vote totals, ranging from long lines at certain polling places to flooding of the bathroom at the Bowie County Courthouse. Final results were not posted until well into the morning hours on Wednesday.
The unofficial results include large margin wins for Josh Davis in the Bowie County Tax Assessor Collector’s race and Chad Ford in the race for Precinct 2 Constable.
Ford responded to the results on his social media feed about 2 a.m. by saying, “I would like to say thanks to the Constable Pct 2 voters for choosing me as your next Constable. The support is greatly appreciated, and the words of encouragement from people even outside the Precinct were great to hear. My family and friends were great during my campaign and I thank them all. I would also like to recognize my opponent Bill Bonneville for running a clean race and thank him and his family for their service in the New Boston Fire Department and other volunteer efforts. I look forward to working with the other county officials elected tonight and congratulate them. God Bless You All!”
