This week’s Bowie’s Best Athlete of the Week is Tiffanie Stewart. The 30-year-old athlete is from Simms and is a graduate of New Boston High School. Tiff, as her friends and family call her, is a veteran of the Bowie’s Best Special Olympics having competed with the team since it first started in 2003. Tiff has been sidelined this season with a torn Achilles tendon following an injury in the 2022 fall softball season. But she says she has enjoyed being on the sidelines taking pictures of her teammates and being their “biggest cheerleader ever”. She has competed in the spring track and field 50 meter dash and the shot put. She also played pitcher for the fall softball season. She is also a member of the Challenger softball league in Texarkana. When she’s not showing off her athletic abilities or cheering on her friends and teammates, Tiff says she loves taking pictures as an amateur photographer, spending time with family and friends, riding her side by side ATV, playing with her dog Max and just enjoying time outdoors. She says her absolute favorite place to be is the beach which she describes as her happy place. Tiff says her favorite part of being a part of Bowie’s Best is being around all her friends. She loves being there to cheer them on and encourage all her teammates and other participants as well.
