The 2022-2023 school year was a step in the right direction for Redwater athletics. Strides were made in each sport to put the program in a position to excel in each sport. Redwater saw playoff appearances in multiple sports for the first time in years and competed for the district title in all sports.
Redwater Dragon Athletic Director Brandon Layne said, “I thought we had another progressive year where we all took a step forward across the board athletically. Our ability to compete in each sport was noted”, said Layne. “In football we won two district games and that was the first time in five years that Redwater has won a district game!”
“In girls basketball we won a district game for the first time in three years”, said Layne. Boys basketball made the playoffs for the first time in four years. Baseball and softball both made the playoffs and we’re competitive throughout the program on both sides. I think it laid another step on a solid foundation to kicking off the 2023-2024 school year.”
