The 2023 Bowie County Sheriff Office BASE Golf Tournament was held last week at Oak Grove Golf Course.
BASE (Basic Awareness Safety Education) is taught by LT. Mark Shermer in participating area schools at the 5 th grade level and covers a broad spectrum of safety from drug and alcohol abuse, to bullying and much more.
The golf tournament is the annual fundraiser to ensure all costs are covered. This year produced 10 playing teams with more teams sponsored that did not play, and many volunteers. It was a beautiful day for a wonderful cause.
