Usrey to lead New Boston softball

As the New Boston Lady Lions focus on continuing previous success, a veteran Bowie county coach has joined the program.

Scott Usrey spent his first nine years coaching at Redwater High School where his teams saw much success. Usrey has spent the last year teaching science at New Boston High School waiting for this position, building relationships with his students and preparing to lead the Lady Lion Softball program.

“ I took this last year off from coaching and spent it teaching Biology here at New Boston”, said Usrey. “Doing that allowed me to get into athletics a few days towards the end of the year and kind of break the ice.”
