Simms ISD and the James Bowie Pirates officially named a new Athletic Director and Head Football Coach last week with their hiring of former DeKalb football standout Chance Blackburn being named to the position.
Blackburn returns home to Bowie County after a stint with the Atlanta Rabbs where he served as an Assistant Football coach and the head powerlifting coach.
Blackburn grew up in DeKalb and currently resides in Douglasville, but he and his family will soon move to their new home on the James Bowie campus. He is married to his wife of 10 years, Casi, and the couple have an eight year old daughter, Adeline.
