The James Bowie Lady Pirates have gotten their 2023 season off to a rowdy start as they completely corralled the Pewit Lady Brahmas on Friday by a score of 23-4.
The Lady Pirates scored four times in the 1st, four more in the 2nd and added eight runs in the 3rd inning to walk away with the contest early. The big 3rd inning scoring frenzy was fueled by RBI hits from Marlie Rogers, Hollyn Tutt, Alleyah Franco and Aryana Key.
The James Bowie bats were on fire in the game with a total of 10 hits including a 3 for 4 outing by Tutt who had three RBI’s, and Cerina Terrell also had three RBI’s in the game. Franci had a pair of RBI’s and a homerun. Other RBI hitters included Rogers with a pair, as did Lindsey McCullough. Those with lone RBI’s in the rout included Kaylin Brown, Key, and Callee Espinoza.
