Robert Louis Brantley, 88, of De Kalb, Texas died Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at a Texarkana, Texas hospital.  

Robert was born October 7, 1930 in De Kalb, Texas to John Augusta and Alma Prissilla Elliott Brantley.  He was a retired employee of General Motors Corp.  Robert was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas where he served as a deacon for 24 years, was a member of the Brotherhood Ministry and was a Trustee.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, James Brantley, Jr. and Bennie E. Brantley.

Robert is survived by his wife, Gladys Brantley of De Kalb, Texas; two sons, Ricky Brantley of De Kalb, Texas and Darren Brantley of Waterford, Michigan; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Bobbie Jean Forte of Dallas, Texas, Ruby Nell Brantley of De Kalb, Texas and Jo Ann and Don Woods of Dallas, Texas; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Joe Nathan and Juanzell Brantley of Dallas, Texas, Willie B. Brantley of Duncanville, Texas and Paul L. and Patricia Brantley of De Kalb, Texas; one grandchild, James A. Brantley, III; one great grandchild, Cyiera Brantley; and numerous other family members and friends. 

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 20, 2018 at St. Paul Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas with Rev. Kenneth Palmer officiating.  Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in De Kalb, Texas
