The New Boston Lady Lions are roaring loudly as they enter the 2018 postseason. Make no mistakes, these ladies have been tough all year, dropping just one district match, but they are firing on all cylinders down the stretch.

They followed up their district championship win over Redwater last Friday with yet another three game sweep of the Paris Chisum Lady Mustangs on Monday to claim the Bi-District Championship. The final score in the match was 25-19, 25-18 and 25-18.

The McAlexander sisters were a wrecking ball duo Monday night as Haley McAlexander poured it on the Lady Mustangs with 12 points from the service line and 11 assists. Big sister, senior Morgan McAlexander, was in beast mode up front with 12 kills. Also tough at the net were Tamiya Smith and Lauren Hurst who each had five kills and Carleigh Reeves with four kills.

Carlee Ratcliff was her usual consistent leader on the floor with 21 digs in the contest.

The win sets Coach Haylee Houston and her Lady Lions up for an Area Championship match against either New Diana or Big Sandy.

In other area volleyball, the Redwater Lady Dragons were overpowered by a strong Mt. Vernon squad and fell in their bi-district bid, as did the Maud Lady Cardinals, who lost Monday night to Quinlan Boles.
