Department chiefs resign amid calls for better communication, resources

The Bowie County Master Gardeners and Texas A&M-Texarkana’s Extended Education and Community Development Department will host the program “Preserving Your Harvest” on Monday, July 10, 2023, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The class is free and open to the public. The class will take place in the Texas A&M Texarkana University Building, Room 326. No reservation is required to attend. The program will be presented by Cheryl Mapston, Bowie County Master Gardener.

TxDOT recently announced that about 160 miles of highways in the area will soon receive new surfaces. Contractor Missouri Petroleum Products Company of Bullard, Texas, was awarded the contract to seal coat highways in all nine counties within the Atlanta District at a cost of $10.8 million. The Atlanta District includes Bowie, Camp, Cass, Harrison, Marion, Morris, Panola, Upshur and Titus counties.
