New Boston and DeKalb councils to face challengers in May election

Debate planned for New Boston candidates

 

New Boston and DeKalb will see city elections this May with four spots being challenged on the New Boston City Council and one on the DeKalb City Council.

In New Boston, incumbent Joe Dike will face a challenge from Robb Carr for Place 1, Sue Anderson will run against incumbent Bill Eggenburger for Place 2, Charles Patton will face off with incumbent Jackie Laney for the Place 4 seat and Place 5 incumbent Richard Ellis will face a challenge from Neilan Hensley.

In DeKalb, three will vie for the Place 4 seat, with Lowell Walker, Connie Cooper and Thomas Culpepper.

In the coming weeks, the Tribune will have candidate profiles in each race and the week before early voting begins in April, the Tribune will host a town hall debate in New Boston, with candidates answering questions on what matters to the people they will serve as city councilmen.
