ETHAN DRAKE HUDSON

Ethan Drake Hudson, age 10, of De Kalb, Texas, passed away tragically from injuries sustained in a car accident on July 24, 2025. Born on May 12, 2015, to Seth Michael Hudson and Lisa Michelle Julian . Ethan was a vibrant and spirited young boy whose presence brought joy to everyone who knew him. He was a student at De Kalb Elementary School where he was known for his boundless energy, kind heart, and a smile that could light up the darkest day. Whether playing with friends, helping others, or simply making someone laugh, Ethan had a special way of leaving a mark on those around him.

Ethan is survived by his mother and stepfather, Lisa and Mark Johnson, of De Kalb, Texas; his father, Seth Hudson, of Genoa, Arkansas; grandmothers, Kathy Hudson and Robin Williams; four sisters, Jessie Marie Strickland of Maud, Texas, Emiley Strickland of De Kalb, Texas, Jaelynn Strickland of Maud, Texas, and Belle Johnson of De Kalb, Texas; one brother, Arison Johnson, of De Kalb, Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends. His memory will live on in each of them and in the many lives he touched.

Cremation is under the direction of Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.

Funeral services for Ethan and his sister Jessie will be held Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in DeKalb, Texas, with Brother Augustine officiating. Interment will follow at Rayburn Cemetery.

Though his time on this earth was far too short, Ethan’s light, laughter, and love will forever be remembered.
