BESSIE LOU ‘BESS’ MCWILLIAMS

Bessie Lou “Bess” McWilliams, of New Boston, Texas, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022 at a Texarkana, Texas hospital. She was 85.

Bess was born December 1, 1936 to Sonny Henry and Cecil Pearl Ledbetter Stroman. She was retired from Bowie County where she worked as a County Clerk Assistant and was a member of Old Salem Baptist Church in New Boston, Texas.

She is survived by four brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Ruth Stroman of New Boston, Texas, Chester and Edith Stroman of Longview, Texas, Robert and Joanne Stroman of Simms, Texas and Roland and Rowena Stroman of New Boston, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas. Interment will follow at Red Bayou Cemetery in New Boston, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.
