Billy James Lee passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at his residence in Avery, Texas.  He was 92. 

Billy was born February 9, 1927, in De Kalb, Texas, to C.E. and Ollie Elliott Lee.  He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II.  Billy was a farmer and rancher and was a member of De Kalb First United Methodist Church where he attended the Challengers Sunday School Class.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Joe D. Lee; and one sister, Martha Blackburn. 

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Lee of Oak Grove, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Kirk and Amy Lee of Bryan, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Beja and Rob Mlinarich of Pottsborough, Texas;one brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Peggy Lee of Oak Grove, Texas; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Ruth Drake of Oak Grove, Texas, Leah Kennedy of Oak Grove, Texas, Paula and Coot Barrett of Oak Grove, Texas, and Betty and Chuck Bartlett of De Kalb, Texas; four grandchildren, James Robert Elrod of Rockwall, Texas, Paul Michael Elrod of Oak Grove, Texas, Hayden Telford Lee of Carrolton, Texas, and Hanna Kathryn Lee of Waco, Texas;  and numerous other relatives and friends.

Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas with Rev. Jimmy Ramsey and Rev. Terry Cashion officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.
