Debra Ann Daffern, of Maud, Texas, passed away Friday, July 12, 2019 at a Texarkana, Texas hospice facility. She was 63.
Debra was born September 11, 1955, in Texarkana, Arkansas, to Lester Owen and Naomi Delores Herrington Philyaw. On May 15, 1985, she was married to Lynn Daffern in Linden, Texas. She was retired from Red River Army Depot where she worked in Ammunitions and as a Painter. Debra was a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church in New Boston, Texas where she worked in Children’s Ministry and in the Nursery.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lester Owen Philyaw; her brother, Phillip Philyaw; and a great granddaughter, Chandler Michelle Daffern.
She is survived by her husband, Lynn Daffern of Maud, Texas; her mother, Naomi Shumake of Texarkana, Texas; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Benny Daffern of Maud, Texas, Billy Daffern of Avery, Texas and Troy and Laurie Daffern of Texarkana, Texas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Pat and Keith McCormick of Texarkana, Arkansas and Karen and Scott Morris of Seguin, Texas; a brother, Doug Philyaw of Texarkana, Arkansas; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. 
Services will be 2:00 PM Monday, July 15, 2019 at Rock Creek Baptist Church in New Boston, Texas with Rev. Steve Minter and Augustine Alaniz officiating. Interment will follow at Rock Hill Cemetery in New Boston, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Monday, July 15, 2019 at Rock Creek Baptist Church in New Boston, Texas.
