EDNA DELAINE BOX

Edna Delaine Box of Simms, Texas passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2023 in Texarkana, Texas. She way 80.

Edna was born May 30, 1942 in Hughes Springs, Texas to Freddie Claude McDaniel and Ruby Lee Cooper. She was a retired bookkeeper and a member of Wards Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Lee Gibbs and Elbert Dyke and one son, David Mack Box.

She is survived by her husband, William Elbert Box of Simms, Texas; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Randy and Judy Box of Simms, Texas and William E. “Billy” Box II; one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and David Moore of Heavener, Oklahoma; two sisters and one brother-inlaw, Linda and Billy Bob May of Simms, Texas and Kaye Kelly of Debary, Florida; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Nick and Pat Dyke of Simms, Texas and David and Nancy McDaniel of New Boston, Texas; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; special nieces and nephews of “Aunt Laine”; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas with Rev. Steve Minter officiating. Interment will follow at Wards Creek Cemetery in Simms, Texas.

Visitation will be held 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday, May 19, 2023 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas. Memorials may be made to Wards Creek Missionary Baptist Church, 7396 FM 561, Simms, TX 75574.
