Linda Louise Higgins passed away Friday, May 12, 2023 in De Kalb, Texas. She was 71.

Linda was born November 20, 1951 in Steubenville, Ohio to Stanley Alexander and Lucille Pysniak Pawlin.

She was a retired Soil Technician and Coordinator for the United States Soil and Conservation Service. She was a graduate of State University of New York, Farmingdale. Linda was a member of St. Mary of the Cenacle Catholic Church in New Boston, the ACTS Movement I, and the Sacred Heart Contemporary Choir.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Stanley A. Pawlin, Jr.; and one step son, Donald Higgins.

She is survived by her husband, Doyle Higgins, Sr. of De Kalb, Texas; her stepmother, Zana Kay Pawlin; one daughter, Kerry Demers of Boston, Massachusetts; one son, David Demers of Roslindale, Massachusetts; three step daughters, Debbie Coppic of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Donna Gamble and her husband, Rick of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Cathy Obenoskey of Truman, Arkansas; one stepson, Doyle Higgins, Jr. of Truman, Arkansas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Deborah Pawlin of Shawboro, North Carolina and Joseph and Barbara Pawlin of Knotts Island, North Carolina; one sister and brotherin- law, Mary and Jerry Gavin of Flaherty, Kentucky; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one horse, Cairo; one burro, Boy; three dogs, Charlie, Hunter, and Sadie; forty plus chickens; two ducks; one rooster; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Mass of Christian burial will be 5:00 P.M. Monday, May 22, 2023 at St. Mary of the Cenacle Catholic Church in New Boston, Texas with Father Ignatius Nwankwocha officiating.

Visitation with Rosary will be held 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, May 21, 2023 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.
