Mary Nell Windle

 

Mary Nell Windle passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021 at her home in De Kalb, Texas.  She was 83.

Mary Nell was born September 4, 1937 in De Kalb, Texas to Walter William and Mary Richardson Terral.  She was an owner and operator of De Kalb Gas and Oil Co., as well as, a poultry grower and homemaker. Mary Nell was a member of Hubbard Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where she was the pianist.  She was a charter member of the Gardenia Garden Club and a recipient of the De Kalb Chamber of Commerce Noble Award.  

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Carey O. Windle.  

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Walt and Cathy Windle of De Kalb, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Nell and Gary Old of Texarkana, Texas; one stepdaughter, Sharman Johnston of Longview, Texas; five grandchildren, Carrie Hopper and her husband, Jordan of Searcy, Arkansas, Travis Old of Texarkana, Texas, Mary Katherine Old of Texarkana, Texas, Kathleen Cochran and her husband, Keith of Longview, Texas, and Lucas Johnston of Longview, Texas; two great granddaughters, Ellie and Ann Cochran; and numerous other family members and friends. 

Services will be held privately. Interment will be at Woodmen Cemetery under the direction of Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.
