MICHAEL ERWIN “SAM” DEAN

Michael Erwin “Sam” Dean passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023 at his home in De Kalb, Texas.

He was 62.

Sam was born August 10, 1960 in De Kalb, Texas to Modester Lucille Dean.

He worked in production for Phillips Forest Products and was of the Christian faith.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Modester Dean and stepfather, Nathaniel Jackson.

He is survived by one daughter, Marika Henderson of De Kalb, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Tommy Reese of Lancaster, Texas; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Carl Williams of De Kalb, Texas and Wayne and Brenda Dean of De Kalb, Texas; two grandchildren, Damarius Henderson and Sadoria Felicia McClain; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Services were held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas with Bro. Bobby Thompson and Bro. Ross Cullins officiating. Interment followed at Garland Cemetery in De Kalb, Texas.
