PAUL E. PALMORE

Paul E. Palmore, 71, of De Kalb, Texas passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019 at a Texarkana, Texas care facility.

Paul was born November 27, 1947 in Texarkana, Arkansas to Paul and Adell Talent Palmore.  He was a Farmer and Rancher, a member of ARKLAHOMATEX Corvette Club and a member of First Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas.  Paul loved his wife, Nita, and they loved to decorate their home for Christmas, play dominos, drive their Corvette and loved watching NASCAR and the Texas Rangers play baseball on TV. He also had a love for agriculture that he passed on to his children and grandchildren. In the 1970’s and 80’s, he and his brother David owned and operated Palmore Timber Company. During this time, he also found time to farm and ranch on the side. He fed cattle in a west Texas feed yard, maintained his cow/calf herd, farmed corn and soybeans, and took great pride in fertilizing and growing the best hay crop a man could ask for. Paul had a passion for landscaping, gardening and working in his flowers, and he’s always mowed more yard than anyone believed necessary because he loved for his place to look nice. In recent years, he could be found inside a bulldozer building a pond or road for someone or riding through the pasture to check on his cows. Paul truly loved to spend time with his brother and sister-n-law playing Forty Two, Friday nights at Zapatas and an occasional trip to watch the Rangers play or a NASCAR event. He loved his kids and grandkids and was so proud of each of them. You could often catch him at the sale barn or at church bragging on one of them. He would also tell you that he loved his church and his Sunday school class. Most of all, Paul loved life, loved to make people laugh, enjoyed playing pranks on those he loved, was one of the hardest workers you’d ever know, and was a wonderful friend, neighbor, and beloved Pappy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Nina Ray Palmore; an infant daughter; and one brother-in-law, Phillip Speer.
He is survived by his wife, Nita Palmore of De Kalb, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Melide Palmore of De Kalb, Texas and Michael and Samantha Palmore of Texarkana, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Dale Woerner of Abernathy, Texas; one stepson, Jim McKillip and his wife Tammie of Maud, Texas; one brother, David Palmore, Sr. and his wife Sandra of Simms, Texas; two sisters, Gloria Palmore of Hooks, Texas and Melony Speer of Mena, Arkansas; three brothers-in-law, Joe Ray of Texarkana, Texas, Marvin McGregor and his wife, Lucy of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Darrell McGregor and his wife Cindy of De Kalb, Texas; eight grandchildren, Cole Palmore, Cade Palmore, Cash Palmore, Drake Woerner, Huck Palmore, Jett Palmore, Denise McKillip and Ronnie McKillip; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
